Step 1. Choose your degree

Choose which degree (BA Music, BM Music Education, or BM Performance) you would like to pursue, from the Undergraduate Degrees page.

Step 2. Apply to UA

Students applying to a BM degree or to the BA Music degree on the University of Arizona Main campus, apply to the University of Arizona. Select your intended major on your UA application. Be sure to meet the application deadlines listed:

First-year students entering Fall 2027: November 1, 2026 Early Application deadline – for maximum scholarship consideration
First-year students entering Fall 2027: May 1, 2027 Regular Application deadline – considered on a rolling basis beginning in late January

Transfer students entering Spring 2027: December 1, 2026 Application deadline
Transfer students entering Fall 2027: June 1, 2027 Application deadline

Students applying to the BA Music degree on the Arizona Online campus, apply to Arizona Online. The application deadlines are:

Students entering Spring 2027 Session I: December 1, 2026
Students entering Spring 2027 Session II: February 15, 2027
Students entering Summer 2027 Session I: April 1, 2027
Students entering Summer 2027 Session II: June 15, 2027

Step 3. BM Performance and BM Music Education students: Contact your faculty mentor

Performance majors should connect with studio faculty during the admissions process and will be guided through placement activities after admission to ensure the best academic and artistic fit. Contact the faculty mentor/coordinator for your area, whose information may be found at the Undergraduate Degrees page (click on BM Performance). Music Education students should also contact Dr. Matt Williams. We want to hear you play/sing, offer you a free lesson, and become your compass on your way to your future! This interaction will help us recommend you for additional scholarship funding through the School of Music. This scholarship funding is limited – so we encourage you to contact your studio faculty as early as possible!

Step 4. Commit to UA

Once you have been accepted to UA and to your major in the School of Music, you can claim your spot in our incoming class by submitting your enrollment fee by the May 1, 2027 deadline. See the UA Admissions website for additional information.

Step 5. Attend orientation

After committing to UA, all incoming students must meet individually with an academic advisor to get registered for their first-semester classes at UA. The meeting is held virtually, so you do not need to be in Tucson. Details about scheduling your meeting will be in your Next Steps Center.
