The Tucson Cello Congress, uniting 100 cellists from across the southwest, will be held December 2, 2023. This event is hosted by the University of Arizona and American String Teacher’s Association and features outstanding guest artists. This year’s congress celebrates cello ensemble music from Latin America, harnesses the power of rhythm through an interactive rhythm class, offers the chance to work with two celebrated composers who wrote the pieces you will perform, features an inspiring session on BLUME Haiti’s global work improving lives through musical excellence, and much more.

Since 2009, the Tucson Cello Congress has annually united more than 100 cellists from across the southwest for rehearsals, performances, master classes, and more. The event brings world-famous guest artists to the University and features masterclasses, concerts, a young artist competition, world premieres, and a cello choir performance, and much more.
