E. L. Lancaster is executive editor (piano) for Alfred Music and a piano faculty member at California State University Northridge. Lancaster is a co-author of Alfred’s Premier Piano Course, Music for Little Mozarts and Alfred’s Group Piano for Adults. In July 2019, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy.

“The Pedagogy of Alfred’s Premier Piano Course”

Discover the philosophy behind Alfred’s Premier Course as author E. L. Lancaster explores the method’s approaches to reading, rhythm, technique, and musicality. The session will include strategies for introducing selected concepts to students.

“Piano for Life”

A primary goal of piano teaching is to give students the knowledge to understand and enjoy music for the rest of their lives. This session explores practical strategies and teaching materials to achieve this goal.

Enhance your teaching with the newest publications from favorite Alfred Music authors Dennis Alexander, Melody Bober, Martha Mier, Catherine Rollin and more. Choose music for students of various ages in this fast-paced review of new materials.
