This unique event, made possible by the Daveen Fox Endowed Chair for Music Studies, involves collaboration between composers, performers and scholars across the undergraduate and graduate levels. The event is the final class of Introduction to Music Literature, in which students investigate world premieres of great pieces throughout music history. As part of the event, music history professor Dr. Matthew Mugmon will provide introductory remarks about these works and their importance in music history. A new work by Daveen Fox Composer-in-Residence and Fred Fox School of Music graduate composer Kari Kreiter will have its dress rehearsal followed by its world premiere performance.
