Exploring how place and identity are expressed through music, the Borderlands Ensemble
presents a performance featuring diverse composer voices. New music by American and
Mexican composers will explore blending across cultures and genres. This performance
will include works by Anne Leilehua Lanzilotti, Barbara White, Charles Daniels Torres
and Alejandro Vera with original artwork by local mural artist Jessica Gonzales.
Borderlands Ensemble was formed in 2016 by faculty member Johanna Lundy
and Tucson string players to connect with audiences in new ways.
