UA Philharmonic Orchestra presents a concert featuring music by English composers. The concert opens with two lovely Chansons by the British composer Edward Elgar, Chanson de Matin and Chanson de Nuit. (Song of Morning and Song of Night). The songs are followed by his Suite The Wand of Youth No. 1, in which he used melodies composed in his youth and orchestrated four decades later to commemorate his fiftieth birthday.
The concert’s second half includes William Walton’s Crown Imperial Coronation March, Frederick Delius’s
The Walk to Paradise Garden from the opera A Village Romeo and Juliet, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Egmont Overture. To celebrate the culmination of the school year and find out how Beethoven fits into this program, please join us for our final concert!
