Guest Artist: Valentin Kovalev, saxophonist

We are delighted to welcome award winning saxophonist Valentin Kovalev to the University of Arizona School of Music. Kovalev is the winner of the Concert Artists Guild Competition, the Astral Artists National Competition, and the Naumburg Foundation Competition with honors that led to a sold out recital debut at Carnegie Hall. He has presented masterclasses around the world and currently serves on the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music. In addition to his performing and teaching career, Kovalev has cultivated a global online community of more than 150,000 followers, with over 100 million views across his social media platforms.

During his time in Tucson, Kovalev will present masterclasses open to the public and will perform a recital alongside University of Arizona Professor of Saxophone Dr. Edward Goodman and Professor of Piano Dr. Fanya Lin.
