Works prepared and performed with the tutelage
of Francesca Matacena.
Francesca Matacena pesarese di nascita si è diplomata in pianoforte a pieni voti presso il Conservatorio di musica “G. Rossini” di Pesaro e in Musica da Camera presso il Conservatorio “B. Maderna” di Cesena. In seguito ha frequentato corsi di perfezionamento pianistico e di maestro di Canto, al fianco di Giuseppe Di Chiara e Mario Melani, dedicandosi soprattutto alle nuove metodologie per l’insegnamento del pianoforte e della Voce ottenendo il Diploma Accademico di Canto Lirico, ramo didattico. Svolge un’ intensa attività concertistica con ampio repertorio da solista, a quattro mani, con orchestre, con Cori polifonici e con cantanti e ha preso parte ad eventi musicali in tutto il mondo dall’ Europa alla Cina, dal Kazakistan alla Russia, fino a coinvolgere paesi come l’Argentina, il Caucaso e la Malesia. Ha fondato il CIMP “il palcoscenico grande come il mondo” che permette ai giovani musicisti di farsi apprezzare e conoscere e attraverso un concorso a premi, aggiudicarsi il prestigioso Pesaro Prize e Rossini International Award. In questi anni, numerosissime importanti realtà musicali internazionali hanno aderito al CIMP e Francesca Matacena oggi viene considerata dai numerosi partner artistici una vera ambasciatrice della musica nel mondo. E’ invitata regolarmente a presiedere selezioni musicali per individuare giovani artisti da premiare.E’ titolare della Cattedra di pratica pianistica al Conservatorio di musica Rossini di Pesaro. Ha al suo attivo incisioni discografiche e radiotelevisive, titoli e pubblicazioni. Recentemente ha ricevuto il Premio Nazionale “Galvanina Cuore” per il progetto di solidarietà RossiniMania dove la musica si mette al servizio di chi è in difficoltà.

Francesca Matacena born in Pesaro graduated in piano with full marks at the Conservatory of Music “G. Rossini” in Pesaro and Chamber Music at the Conservatory “B. Maderna “of Cesena. She attended piano and singing courses, with Giuseppe Di Chiara and Mario Melani, devoting mainly to the new methodologies for piano and voice teaching, receiving the Academic Diploma of Canto Lirico, a didactic branch. She has an intense concert activity with a wide solo repertoire, four hands, orchestras, polyphonic choirs and singers, and has participated in world music events from Europe to China, from Kazakhstan to Russia, to involving countries such as Argentina, the Caucasus and Malaysia. She founded the CIMP “The Great As The World” for young musicians to be appreciated and known and played in the prize competition, and to win the prestigious Pesaro Prize and Rossini International Award. Over the years, many important international music companies have joined the CIMP and Francesca Matacena is today considered by many artistic partners as a true ambassador of music in the world. She is regularly invited to play musical selections to find young artists to be rewarded. She is a pianist practice teacher at the Rossini Pesaro Music Conservatory. She has recordings and radio and television recordings, titles and publications. Recently you received the “Galvanina Cuore” National Award for RossiniMania solidarity project where music is put to the service of those who are in trouble.

with 2022-2023 Concerto Competition winners

The 49th Annual President’s Concert will feature the Arizona Symphony Orchestra and student soloists who won the highly competitive University of Arizona Concerto Competition. Featuring clarinetist Gloria Ines Orozco Dorado, performing the “Black Dog Concerto” by Scott McAllister; pianist Wenxin Guan, performing movements II and III of the Piano Concerto No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 25 by Felix Mendelssohn; mezzo-soprano Martina Portychova, performing “Nobles Seigneurs, salut!” from Les Huguenots by Giacomo Meyerbeer; and violinist Emmy Tisdel, performing movement I of the Violin Concerto in D major, Opus 35 by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The students are selected from each area of the Fred Fox School of Music – strings, voice, wind and percussion, and keyboard. They represent the depth of talent at the school, shining in this performance with the Arizona Symphony Orchestra. Graduate students Yudai Ueda and Fátima Corona del Toro will conduct the students’ performances. The program will also include works by Myroslav Skoryk and Alexander Borodin, under the baton of Dr. Thomas Cockrell.
