Between Us

Contemporary clarinet and saxophone duo, Duo Entre-Nous (Associate professor of clarinet, Jackie Glazier, and Belgium-based saxophonist Don-Paul Kahl) recently released their debut album, Fresh Ink, on Equilibrium Records. This program will feature the live premiere of Between Us, written in 2021 for the album by composer David Biedenbender. The duo will also present a world premiere of Megan DiGiorgio’s new work for clarinet, saxophone, and electronics which incorporates the sounds from the International Space Station as well as staged movement. The program also features a world premiere of UA alum Colin Nossek’s duo which is inspired by Virginia Woolf’s A Haunted House. The duo will also perform a new version of Dan Asia’s Jane Set and a new work by Mexican composer Gabriela Ortiz. Come explore the otherworldly sounds of the clarinet and saxophone in this exciting program of new music.
