Outcome 1 |
Technical Competency: Students will demonstrate advanced technical competency in their specific area of study; including analyzation, creativity, compositional techniques, the development of compositional craft, advanced knowledge of scoring, harmony, varied compositional methods, advanced analytics techniques, conducting techniques, rehearsal techniques, score study, interpretation, and public performances, artistic expression, knowledge of repertory, and performance/technical skills as defined by the particular area of concentration. |

Repertory: Students will evaluate and demonstrate knowledge and describe characteristics of broad core repertory. Students will demonstrate broad knowledge of music history and repertories through the present time. |

Pedagogical Competency: Students will demonstrate competency and creativity in pedagogy, knowledge of instrumentation and instrumental pedagogy, and knowledge of pedagogical content for teaching general, instrumental, and vocal music in a wide variety of settings and contexts. |

Field Proficiency: Students will demonstrate knowledge and field proficiency in their area of specialization including: evaluating current content, philosophies, materials, technologies, and curriculum development for K-12 music and in higher education, analyzing advanced analytics techniques and understanding of musical forms/processes through aural/verbal/visual analyses, or a familiarity and engagement with a wide selection of Western and non-Western musical literature. |
