Dr. Chad R. Nicholson, associate professor and director of bands at the UA Fred Fox School of Music, has been named chief guest conductor of the Beijing Wind Orchestra, China’s oldest professional wind ensemble. Dr. Nicholson will conduct the ensemble for the Chinese New Year concert at the Chinese National Centre for Performing Arts on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. This partnership has launched an exciting new relationship between the Beijing Wind Orchestra conductor, Li Fangfang, and the UA Wind Ensemble.
