Faculty artist oboist Sara Fraker was featured this week on CBC Radio in a full-length interview with plant ecologist Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer, who appeared as a guest artist at the Fred Fox School of Music in 2017. The program is titled, “Why is the world so beautiful? An Indigenous botanist on the spirit of life in everything.” Dr. Fraker is interviewed briefly at [27:34] and the piece “Braiding: Lessons from Braiding Sweetgrass for Oboe and Electronics” (2017) from her recently released album, “Botanica – Music for Oboe and English Horn” is featured.
