UA Fred Fox School of Music alumnus Dr. Juan Montoya will be visiting Cambridge this October to present and premiere one of his most recent compositions. A piece composed together with Colombian Composer Andrés Posada, based in part on a poem by Juan Manuel Roca, and with video-visuals created by artist Michael Longstaff.
The piece “Parábolas” for Mezzo, Viola, Cello, and Piano, explores the post-conflict problematic and the social division that has been surging in the past few years in Colombia. A division mainly ruled by fear and fake news. Two opposing points of view, taking part in a single conflict, with two different outcomes: Peace or War.
