The Fred Fox School of Music is proud of UA alumna Heather Mitchell (DMA 2016) for her recent stellar appearance on Carnegie Hall’s stage. As Manhattan Concert Productions’ conductor-in-residence, Dr. Mitchell led the Masterwork Festival Chorus and the NYC Chamber Orchestra in a beautiful performance of Robert Schumann’s Requiem, Op. 148. It’s a work that is vastly unknown, thus Dr. Mitchell is trying to introduce it into the choral/orchestral repertoire. “The concert was unreal!,” said Mitchell, “Members of the Desert Skies United Methodist Church (Tucson) sang with us. Alexander Shawn is the director, who is also a UA alum.”
