“Le cygne” (The Swan) from “Carnival des Animaux” (Carnival of the Animals) by Camille Saint-Saëns (original for cello, played on bass flute)
Fred Fox School of Music alumni are staying creative as they shelter at home during the pandemic. This beautiful home video showcases flute alumna Ana Laura González (DMA 2007) and her daughters, Malena, Layla and Nadia. The videographer is husband and proud dad, Daniel Buttermann, who is also a UA alumnus (BM 2006, Clarinet Performance). A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ana Laura is on the music faculty at Hartwick College and SUNY-Oneonta and is a member of the Catskill Symphony Orchestra. Their daughters study ballet at the Decker School of Ballet in Oneonta. About the video, Daniel shared: “Life is full of challenges – not perfect, but splendidly satisfying. Like the making of this video.”
