UA Wind Ensemble

Brass, Large Ensembles, Percussion, Small Ensembles, Woodwinds Friday February 27, 2026 - 7:30p.m. to 9:00p.m.

Venue: Crowder Hall, 1017 N. Olive Rd.

The University of Arizona Wind Ensemble presents Triumph, a concert exploring resilience, unity, and the enduring human spirit through wind ensemble music. The program reflects moments in history when music became a response to adversity, a call for collective strength, and a celebration of hope.

The concert includes works shaped by profound historical and cultural contexts, from music born in resistance to expressions of community and shared responsibility. One featured work reflects a composer’s artistic response to political oppression in the 1930s, while another—The Promise of Living from a mid-century American opera—celebrates the power of individuals coming together to honor people, land, and shared survival.

Featuring works by Aaron Copland, Dmitri Shostakovich, Davide Delle Cesse, and James Barnes, this program invites listeners to experience triumph not only as victory, but as perseverance, connection, and renewal.
