Wildcat Music Futures

UA Hosted Events, UA Presents Wednesday April 15, 2026 - 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.

Wildcat Music Futures is a new event in the School of Music for current undergrad and graduate students that prioritizes career preparedness and explores career possibilities in the arts. Community partners, including a variety of local musical and educational organizations, will be invited to connect with excelling students as they prepare to enter the professional job market. 

 

What UofA students can expect:

  • Opportunity to personally network with potential arts employers and professionals in the Southern Arizona community
  • Individualized workshop sessions with SoM faculty and staff, including: CV and/or performance résumé development, mock job interviews, elevator pitch practice, cover letter review, and headshot photoshoot

How UofA students can prepare:

  • Create/refresh CVs, performance résumés, and cover letters
  • Review suggested guidelines for job interviews and elevator pitches
  • Practice career preparedness skills with family, friends, and colleagues
  • Dress for success!

What community partners can expect:

  • Tabling in a large open space, similar to a job fair
  • Interaction with music students seeking to explore career pathways and opportunities

What community partners can offer:

  • Information about roles available or roles that may become available
  • Conversation with students about how best to ready themselves for the profession
  • Ways to follow up attendees
