“The New World” is an eclectic program that examines the complex issues surrounding patriotism in our ever-changing world. This varied program includes works from beloved British composers as well as choral settings of 20th-century folk and popular music in America. The concert celebrates and highlights the move from loyalty to the crown, to loyalty to a government, to loyalty to one another, ultimately adopting the belief that, “this land was made for you and me.”
Last fall the Fred Fox School of Music welcomed Dr. Alyssa Cossey to the faculty and as conductor of University Community Chorus. For more information about joining the University Community Chorus in spring 2019, please contact Dr. Cossey at ajcossey@email.arizona.edu.
