The “Fiery and Cold Fury” Concert will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of one of the most prolific and influential 20th century composers Dmitri Shostakovich. This interdisciplinary project will celebrate his legacy in a concert featuring faculty and students performing Shostakovich’s String Quartet No 8 with a modern choreography by the UA faculty Marquez Johnson, as well as performances by the School of Music faculty Andrew Stuckey, Philip Alejo, Rie Tanaka, Theodore Buchholz, Esteban Hernandez-Parra, Elena Chernova-Davis and the newly formed “The Old Pueblo Violin Ensemble”.
