Professor Touzet will appear on the U of A campus performing a solo recital with Professor Pamela Decker including the Music of Bach, Leclair, and other luminaries of the Baroque. Additionally, he will present a distinguished lecture on Baroque Performance practice as well as teach a masterclass to students in the School of Music.

About the Artist
Vincent Touzet, a distinguished baroque flutist of French origin, has built an impressive career blending expertise in both modern and baroque flute performance. He earned the prestigious “Premier Prix” in flute and chamber music in France and completed a master’s degree under the guidance of Barthold Kuijken in Brussels.
In Mexico, Touzet has performed with leading ensembles, including the Orchestra of the Fine Arts Theater, the UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Fine Arts Chamber Orchestra, where he also appeared as a soloist. He has collaborated with CEPROMUSIC and premiered notable contemporary works such as Flautillería for flute and electronics by Carole Chargueron and La Hermana Agua for flute, cello, and electronics by Nonis Prado. In October 2022, he presented Jean-Luc Hervé’s #4 (…les sons tournent) for bass flute and electronics at the 44th FIMNME.
A specialist in early music, Touzet has performed with various baroque orchestras and chamber groups, including Ensemble Clérambault, Trio Barroco, Il Furore, La Sultanne, La Fontegara, and Orquesta Barroca Novum Antigua Música. He won first prize at the National Flute Association International Competition in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1998. An accomplished educator with a degree in pedagogy from France, Touzet teaches flute and baroque traverse flute at the INBA Higher School of Music and the UNAM Faculty of Music. He also leads an Early Music Workshop at the National Conservatory of Music of the INBA and serves as a teacher and coach at the UNAM Academy of Early Music.
Touzet’s discography includes Six Concertos à cinq flûtes by J.B. Boismortier (Naxos, awarded “Choc de la Musique”), Concerti by Fasch with Il Gardellino (Accent label), Otoño by Rosa Guraieb (Urtext), Regards with the Tempus Fugit ensemble (Quindecim Records), and Leçons de Ténèbres by M.A. Charpentier (Le Concert Spirituel, Glossa label), among others.
