Guest Artist Master Class: Eva Amsler and Shalev Ad-El

The Flute Studies Program is pleased to host esteemed flutist Eva Amsler in a guest artist master class with harpsichord colleague Shalev Ad-El. Professor emerita of Flute at the Florida State University College of Music, Ms. Amsler previously served on the faculty of the State Conservatory of Music in Feldkirch (Austria) and was principal flutist of the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra in Switzerland for twenty years. She also conducts master classes in Europe, the United States, and Asia. A pioneer on the wooden flute, she organized a worldwide series of concerts with The Dorian Consort, and she has played various flutes in specially created concerts of new music with the ensemble ENIF – aktuelle Music.

Shalev Ad-El has recorded over 80 albums for labels such as Deutsche Gramophone, Chandos, Accent, Denon, and CPO and performed at the worlds most renowned halls including Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, the 92Y, Suntury Hall, Concertgebow Brugge, Bachfest of Leipzig, Bozar of Brussels, LG Centre of Seoul, and the Handelfestspiele of Halle. He has conducted the Berlin Symphony, Hong Kong APA orchestra, Israel Symphony  RIshon Letzion, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony, Beer Sheva sinfonietta, Bangkok Symphony, Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, Baroccada baroque orchestra, Il Gardellino baroque orquestra, Pardubice Baroque orchestra, Music viva Amsterdam, Norwegian Soloists Choir, Panama National Symphony, Rio de Janeiro  Unirio orchestra, Peruvian National Symphony and national youth orchestra,  and the Albanian Radio Orchestra.

This residency has been made possible by a grant from the College of Fine Arts Bank One Visiting Artist Professorship Awards.
