Celloween

Strings Wednesday October 29, 2025 - 7:00p.m. to 8:30p.m.

Venue: Holsclaw Hall

Join the exceptional cellists of the UA Cello Studio, under the direction of Dr. Theodore Buchholz, for a special Halloween-themed concert. This unique program will showcase both solo and ensemble performances, including the premiere of a new piece.

Audiences can look forward to music with a macabre twist, featuring works such as Bach’s Toccata and Fugue (Fantasia), Shostakovich’s Sonata for Cello and Piano, Casarrubios’s Seven, Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and more.

The stage will be transformed with a Victorian-inspired setting, complete with glowing (fake) candles, candelabras, and projected imagery to bring the atmosphere to life.

👻 Costumes are encouraged—and audiences of all ages are welcome! While the program will not be scary, it will maintain the formal tone of a classical concert, making it a perfect event for both seasoned concertgoers and families.

Following the Tucson performance, the concert will also travel to the Lifelong Learning in the Highlands Marana and also to Sun City Oro Valley.

$Free and open to the public.
