Rivalry weekend is here! Experience two of the finest marching bands in the Big 12 performing in exhibition as the University of Arizona’s Pride of Arizona and Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Marching Band come together at this year’s highly anticipated Battle of the Bands event, a thrilling showcase of student talent and school pride.
The University of Arizona’s 2024 Sudler Trophy-winning Pride of Arizona Marching Band, under the direction of Professor Chad Shoopman, will pay tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, featuring some of his greatest hits such as “Smooth Criminal,” “Thriller,” and more. The Sun Devil Marching Band, under the direction of Professor James G. Hudson, will perform their latest program Journey in Time.
With nearly 600 members combined, both bands will perform their 2024 field shows separately. They will then rehearse a joint halftime performance together featuring “School’s Out” by Alice Cooper. Join us in celebrating the historic camaraderie and friendly rivalry of these two outstanding band programs.
