Auditions

Scheduled Audition Dates at the University of Arizona:

February 7, 2026 | February 28, 2026

Undergraduate Audition Information

Bachelor of Music (BM) applicants for Performance or Music Education may audition in 1 of 3 ways:

  1. Upload recorded audition material to your supplemental School of Music application in Acceptd. You will be guided to this part of the process after completion of your main University of Arizona application.
  2. Schedule a live online audition, to take place during our scheduled audition dates (see above) or by arrangement.
  3. Schedule a live in-person audition on campus, to take place during our scheduled audition dates (see above) or by arrangement.

Regardless of your preferred audition method:

  • Please see audition repertoire requirements for your area.
  • Please contact Christina Beasley with any questions.

For all Bachelor of Music (BM) applicants:  after submitting your supplementary (Acceptd) application and paying the application fee, you will be invited to confirm your preferred method of audition.

Graduate Audition Information

Graduate applicants to performance based programs may audition in 1 of 3 ways:

1.  By uploading record audition material to your Acceptd application*

  • Please contact Alyssa Gaines with any questions.
  • Please see audition repertoire requirements for your area.

2.  By scheduling a live online audition. Live online auditions will take place during our scheduled audition dates or by arrangement

3.  By scheduling a live in-person audition on campus. Live in-person auditions will take place during our live audition dates or by arrangement

  • Please contact Alyssa Gaines with any questions.
  • Please see audition repertoire requirements for your area.

* Some areas or studios may request a recorded pre-screened audition followed by a final round for which there may be a strong preference for either a live online or live in-person hearing. Please contact Alyssa Gaines to clarify any program specific preferences.

Graduate applicants to Music Education programs are asked to provide:

  • Academic transcripts
  • Copy of current teacher certificate(s) if any
  • Resume/CV
  • 1-2 page Statement of Purpose
  • 3 letters of reference
  • Written Philosophy of Teaching
  • Writing Sample (10-12 page research/academic paper preferred — PhD applicants only)
  • TOEFL scores (international applicants only)
  • Those applying for a Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA) position must also submit a teaching video.  A group teaching situation is preferred.  The teaching episode should be a minimum of 20 minutes in length but not to exceed 40 minutes.
  • Pay supplemental application (Acceptd) fee

Graduate applicants to musicology/ethnomusicology programs are asked to provide:

  • A 1-2 page Statement of Purpose
  • All transcripts from prior academic work
  • One or more Writing Samples
  • 3 letters of reference
  • Pay supplemental application (Acceptd) fee
