Financial Aid for Undergraduate Students
Various types of financial assistance are available to undergraduate students in music, and application forms are included with the admissions materials. Types of financial aid are described below.
Undergraduate Music majors may qualify for the Fine Arts Tuition Award, which is applied toward base tuition and available to both Arizona residents and non-residents. To be eligible, applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and receive a recommendation from the School of Music faculty.
The award is renewable for up to eight consecutive semesters (or four semesters for transfer students) provided the student completes 30 units per academic year and maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Additional merit-based tuition scholarships—such as the Wildcat and Arizona Excellence Awards—are also available for first-year students here.
Students are strongly encouraged to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using the University of Arizona school code: 001083.
Incoming undergraduate transfer students are encouraged to explore the many scholarship opportunities available through the University of Arizona. Students should also submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Please use University of Arizona school code 001083.
International Scholarships are available for both first-year undergraduate students and international undergraduate transfer students. Students are encouraged to learn more about eligibility requirements and application details through the University of Arizona’s Office of International Admissions.
Arizona Teachers Academy: Bachelor of Music (BM) Music Education students who are Arizona Residents are encouraged to apply to the Arizona Teachers Academy (ATA). The ATA is a funding source that supports future music educators in exchange for a commitment to teach in Arizona following graduation. Submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required. Please use University of Arizona school code 001083.
All loans are handled through the Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid (OSFA), A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) should be filed using school code 001083. The total processing time can take up to four months. Therefore, early application is advised.
Students are encouraged to apply on Scholarship Universe (SU) for various music and non-music awards for which they may be eligible. It is important to apply prior to the deadline.
