Fred Fox School of Music alumnus Alexander Lionheart (B.M. in Voice Performance, 2017) recently joined the Marana Unified School District faculty as the 5th/6th grade band director at Ironwood, Quail Run, and Butterfield Elementary Schools. Although most of Mr. Lionheart’s academic and professional experience is in vocal and choral music, his beginnings were in band – and it was in a middle-school band that he thought about pursuing a career in music, so he is excited to teach the subject that inspired that dream. During Alexander’s time at the University of Arizona, he served as a student conductor, section leader, officer and soloist for Symphonic Choir and also as the undergraduate choral intern, administering the UA High School Honor Choir. Congratulations, Alexander!
