Congratulations to the winners of the University of Arizona Solo String Competition! In the spirit of adaptation, the students were able to compete via video submissions, see the links below.
The Solo String Competition is open to University of Arizona undergraduate and graduate violin, viola, cello, and bass students. The 2020 repertoire is limited to any unaccompanied work originally written for violin, viola, cello, or bass written in or after 1945. This competition awards first prizes and honorable mentions for two separate levels: undergraduate and graduate. This event is made possible by the generous philanthropy of Julie Gibson, longtime friend of the Fred Fox School of Music. Due to COVID-19, the event was held entirely online.
