Under the direction of M. Nicole Davis and assistant conductor Abe Gibson, the third installment of The Connection Series: A Collaborative Concert Experience is an interdisciplinary project that brings choral music into conversation with other fields of study. This concert honors the quiet weight of memory, resettlement, and becoming. Through music that reflects themes of journey, identity, and compassion, The Places We Carry gives voice to the unseen—what we hold onto, what shapes us, and how we move forward. Premiering a specially created work by Patrick Chiu of Lycoming College in celebration of Reid Park Zoo’s Pathway to Asia expansion, this performance invites us to consider the stories that live within us and the places we carry wherever we go.
Preceded by “Meet the Composer” event in Slonaker Living Room at 5:00 p.m.
