Associate Professor of Clarinet, Jackie Glazier is joined by Belgian-based saxophonist Don-Paul Kahl in the dynamic ensemble Duo Entre-Nous to present UNITY. Exploring the sonic possibilities of the saxophone and clarinet, UNITY showcases these instruments in new ways achieving the all important connection between them, the musicians, the composers’ voice, and the audience. This program presents works in unique ways that hit at the heart of our deep connection to each other and the physical world around us. The program will feature several world premieres of new works by Joel Love, Robert Lemay, Michel Lysight, Roger Zare, Ramon Lazkano, and Molly Joyce. Molly’s new work, Unity, will feature sound descriptions, penned by artist Andy Slater, as a central point of the work to provide access for the deaf and hard of hearing, inviting the audience to participate in the creation of their own sound descriptions.
