MALLEUS GRADUATE PERCUSSION GROUP & ROSEWOOD MARIMBA BAND

Percussion Tuesday April 10, 2018 - 7:30p.m. to 9:30p.m.

Venue: Crowder Hall, 1017 N Olive Rd, Tucson, AZ 85721-0004

The University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music presents “The Invisible Proverb” featuring Malleus Graduate Percussion Group and Rosewood Marimba Band. The performance will take place on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. in Crowder Hall.

An evening concert of mallet percussion featuring “The Invisible Proverb” by NEXUS percussionist Russell Hartenberger. This work explores the talking drum styles and rhythm patterns of West Africa scored exclusively for keyboard percussion instruments.

Other works on the concert include the jazz-inspired marimba trio “Sculpture 3” by Rüdiger Pawassar, and a collection of novelty ragtime xylophone tunes performed by the Rosewood Marimba Group.
