The program will feature gems of the opera repertoire by Rossini, Handel, Menotti, Offenbach, Lehár and Lalo, plus music in celebration of the elements by Claudio Monteverdi, Clara Schumann, Francis Poulenc and more. Performing in this concert are faculty artists Kristin Dauphinais, mezzo-soprano; Andrew Stuckey, baritone and Rex Woods, piano. Student artists are Brianna Barnhart, soprano; Frannie Barrows, soprano; Joseph Gouge, tenor; Taylor Trolia-Giron, soprano; Ezra Zurita, tenor and Joel Castleton, piano.

This year marks the 65th anniversary of Symphonic Choir, the top undergraduate choral ensemble of the Fred Fox School of Music. Under the direction of Elizabeth Schauer, this versatile group has been honored with invited performances for the professional conferences of the American Choral Directors Association, College Music Society and Arizona Music Educators Association.  The choir is in frequent demand for collaborations with both university and professional ensembles. Students represent a broad variety of disciplines and hail from throughout the United States. The group’s repertoire embraces music from many cultures and from every historical period up to and including premières of new works and those commissioned especially for the choir. Dr. Elizabeth Schauer, associate professor of music and associate director of choral activities, is in her fourteenth year as conductor of Symphonic Choir.
