University of Arizona senior Charles Zoll was recently named the national winner of the Rapido! 14-Day Composition Contest. Originally selected from a pool of almost 400 composers nationwide, Zoll was first invited to attend the regional semi-finals in Dallas, Texas last October. After being propelled to the national stage shared by four other talented composers from the remaining four regions, a panel of judges comprised of composers Jennifer Higdon and Michael Gandolfi and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra conductor Robert Spano selected him as the national winner.

Four distinguished UA School of Music students will be making their Carnegie Hall debut as the University of Arizona is featured in the Collegiate Honors Recital Series. Manhattan Concert Productions presents their Third Annual Collegiate Honors Recital in Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall on Monday, December 17 at 8:00 p.m. General admission is $25 and tickets are available by calling the Carnegie Hall box office at 212-247-7800.
