Music Minor

Overview

The UA School of Music offers a minor in music. The requirements are at least 20 units of music coursework, 9 of which must be upper division units (MUS 300 and above).Included in the 20 units, students must take MUS 119.

The minor is designed to support students interest in music - theoretically, all music courses, ensembles, and individual lessons can be used to satisfy the music minor. Please consult with the UA School of Music Academic Advisor to assist in making appropriate choices in coursework for the music minor. 

To Declare the Music Minor

Current UA students who wish to declare the music minor should make an appointment with the UA School of Music Academic Advisor. To make an appointment with the advisor, please call 520-621-1454.

Other Information

First semester students are NOT permitted to declare a music minor during the first term at the UA. Please plan to begin the declaration process during the second semester or once a UA GPA has been established.
