The University of Arizona clarinet studio presents a concert featuring the
Kansai Clarinet Quartet performing with the University of Arizona Clarinet
Quartet. The free-admission concert will take place in Holsclaw Hall on
Tuesday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. The program will include works by Gordon
Jacobs, Jean Francais, Bela Bartok, Ferenc Farkas and Alec Wilder.
KANSAI CLARINET QUARTET
In 1992 the Kansai Clarinet Society was founded for the purpose of extensive
activities with clarinet music, and the Kansai Clarinet Quartet consists of
members from this group. The ensemble has held a great number of concerts since
their first appearance in 1996. They have performed in various events around
Japan, and internationally, they have joined various music festivals in
Christchurch (New Zealand) and Maine (USA). They were invited to perform
concerts in Pusan (South Korea) in 1999 and the University of Illinois (USA) in
2007. Their 2009 concert tour included Rome, with a broadcast on Vatican Radio,
and Groningen (Holland). In 2011 they performed in New York.
